Migrate TYPO3 site to WordPress

You need to migrate the most complex CMS to the most easy CMS? Yes that’s right! That’s TYPO3 to WordPress migration. And you’re doing well 😉

However the database of TYPO3 is very complex too. It doesn’t store all content as a simple field it use different templates built with XML to generate simple page on browsers. Each TYPO3 site has its own XML template which includes sidebars, widgets, title, subtitle, images, banners and other components, that’s like puzzle. So that becomes horrible work to collect this puzzle for each page. “Oh my god!” The TYPO3 guys did anything to not allow you migrate from this CMS 🙂

So what we should do? I googled and found a lot of free plugins and automatic tools, which say “Hey I can do that, download me and I’ll migrate all pages and all data!”. Hmmmm, believe me , that’s impossible. I think there is only one correct and clear way to get TYPO3 Pages and other components on WordPress, that are hands! hands hands!)

However if you do all manually, it’ll take  months. So I tried two SQL Tutorials (found in internet), WordPress Plugins and I even tried online Automatic Tools like X2WP, TransCMS, Go2WP, CMS2CMS, MRobot and all did nothing. I just spent money for nothing. Support was very poor.  They could not do that, because that’s impossible. These Scripts and Tools can’t predict the puzzle structure of each TYPO3 website XML template. They mixed all content and lost 90% of my website content. Continue reading

Joomla to WordPress Conversion – Why with gConverter?

Convert Joomla to WordPress

Convert Joomla to WordPress with content , extensions and template, including JomSocial to BuddyPress.

gConverter is an overall great choice for Joomla to WordPress conversions when compared to mechanical conversion tools. There are tasks that both gConverter and traditional plug-in services can perform, however, there are many tasks that mechanical CMS converters cannot perform that the staff of gConverter does perform. gConverter is customizable to the individual needs of your CMS conversion, because we employ a staff of professionals rather than a simple program.

WordPress can be set up relatively easily, is very intuitive to use and can usually be managed by even a casual user. Joomla often needs an experienced programmer to maintain the site. The actual conversion of Joomla to WordPress leaves many users overwhelmed. You can google Joomla to WordPress conversion, and get a few youtube instructional videos, as well as some free downloadable plug-in tools that will work for converting usernames, emails, menu sections, menu categories and articles from Joomla to WordPress. You will also get sites like our business, gConverter.com. The tools may seem like a great deal at first, being free, but look closer and you will see that they will only convert about a fifth (or less!) of your current website to the more user-friendly and intuitive WordPress. The free plug-ins miss the most basic of conversion and CMS necessities such as user passwords, tags, and article pictures, which are website essentials. Website essentials that you would have to spend a frustrating amount of time reviewing and editing separately and replacing the items missed by using the free, unintuitive and mechanical conversions. Often, the free plug-ins miss many integral parts of the website design by their selectiveness, and the conversion must eventually be turned over to an expert to correct. Fixing an imperfect conversion is often much more of a task than doing it correctly in the first place, and of course much more time consuming, and usually more expensive. We believe that time is money, and we believe that you do as well, or you wouldn’t be looking for a company to assist you in this task. A company like gConverter who has expertise and experience in Joomla to WordPress migration. Continue reading

Migrate Drupal to WordPress

Convert Drupal to WordPress with Content, Extensions and Template

By now most businesspeople know how important it is to be online. Those business owners understand that a website can make them look more professional and make it easier for their customers to reach them. They know that the website they create is their public face to the world – and that its quality (or lack of quality) will reflect on their own business and how it is perceived.

Unfortunately, many of those business owners fail to realize just how important it is to have the right content management system right from the start. Newcomers to the online world often fail to understand how their choice of platform can impact the perception of their site. They may also fail to take things like how easy a site is to use and update into account. That may be why so many business owners end up regretting their initial choice of content management systems.

Drupal is one of the most frequently used content management systems, but it is not necessarily the best choice. Drupal has a number of important drawbacks, but many website owners do not fully grasp those drawbacks until their sites have been live for awhile. Drupal may be one of the most popular content management systems for bloggers and web developers, but it has a number of disadvantages to be aware of.

Perhaps the biggest disadvantage of Drupal is its inefficiency. Compared to WordPress sites, the load times for Drupal-based sites can be painfully slow. That is important, since many visitors are willing to wait only a few seconds before clicking away to another site. This lack of performance could be costing you money – even if you are not aware of it.

Drupal can also be quite difficult to use, especially for newcomers. Compared to WordPress, Drupal is simply not very user friendly, and many website owners simply give up in frustration. Converting a Drupal-based website to WordPress can make maintenance and upgrades a lot easier and less expensive. Once you convert your Drupal-based site to the WordPress CMS, you may no longer have to pay an outside web developer to do your updates. You can save that money and put it into marketing and advertising your business. Continue reading
